The satellite van is in sunny Brockenhurst right now and there’ll be a live broadcast from the New Forest Observatory tonight on the local Meridian News. We’re due to have a few days (and nights!) fine weather apparently, so I guess we’ll all be bleary eyed for work again on Monday
Watch this space for more on tonight’s programme.
Well that went a lot smoother than I was expecting, these Meridian guys are very professional and make the whole thing appear very relaxed and easy (which it isn’t). Even Louey (our black Labrador) made a cameo appearance on the night

Well – I didn’t see anything about Star Vistas on Meridian News on either the 3rd or 4th December 2008 – sorry for the bad information given below. I have no idea when, or if, anything will be shown

Local independent TV broadcaster Meridian TV was filming at the New Forest Observatory on the evening of 2nd December 2008. Unfortunately they were still filming when that evening’s News was on and I think I missed my image of the Moon/Venus/Jupiter on the weather introductory picture

Hot news for today – I had a 10 minute radio interview with Julian Clegg on BBC Radio Solent this morning between 7.50-8.00am talking about our astrophotos.
The BBC want me back on the show when the book Making Beautiful Deep-Sky Images is published for a longer discussion – so that will be October this year.
Hopefully some of you out there caught the broadcast. If you missed it then, I believe, it is available on the BBC Radio Solent web site [not sure for how long]

OK, if you are in the broadcast area and want to see an unrehearsed LIVE ((please, please, please, don’t let me make a fool of myself)) television interview then tune in to Meridian News on Monday, 20th November at 6.30pm.
Fred Dinenage will be in the studio and the mobile team will be at the New Forest Observatory, asking questions and showing images with their satellite-link van parked outside the house
Did I make a fool of myself? Yes! Right at the very end I said about capturing images on film. Film? Film? I’ve never used film. Why did I say that? Live T.V. is actually pretty scary – avoid it if you can.

Hey! A Television appearance, who would have thought it
Chris Packham’s “Inside Out” programme on BBC1 will be showing the New Forest Observatory and some of our images.
Now, I know that Inside Out is a regional show, so if you are lucky enough to live in the broadcast area you will be able to see it at 7.30pm tomorrow night.
