M33 – the Pinwheel galaxy in Triangulum

Noel has just completed some precision image processing on this latest Hyperstar III image taken over 3 nights.

This is also a landmark image in our Hyperstar work.  Total exposure time (so far) is 13 hours and 47.5 minutes, but it includes sub-exposures up to 15-minutes long!  That’s the equivalent of 1 and a half hour sub-exposures in Sky 90 money.  And we’re not finished yet.  M33 is part of an ongoing experiment and I will be getting some half-hour Hyperstar III sub-exposures to add to this image.  As you can see, it’s already pretty deep!

Keep an eye out for the next exciting installment 🙂
