Micro-Dragonfly Array Online

Last night was the most productive I’ve ever had in the observatories. Managed to get all 3 of the Canon EF 200mm prime lenses aligned and running. But this was not without having to overcome 5 or 6 major issues. I will only recount the last one. The 3rd lens was not autofocusing using FocusMax. I checked the lens was on auto (not manual) and I checked that the Astrometrics focuser was connected under FocusMax, and FocusMax said it was. Traced it down to the focuser USB cable not being connected to the computer, yet FocusMax said it was. Go figure. That took just over half an hour to sort out, made more difficult by brain shutdown at midnight, but once the USB cable was connected, the MicroDragonfly array was up and running – hooray!!!

I should point out that with 3 Canon lenses on the top plate, and the position of the guide scope in the mount head, there is now zero adjustment between the position of the mount head and the aperture, it needs to be spot on all the time. This would be totally impossible if it were not for Tom How’s superb Dome Rotator system. Thank you Tom!!!
