M31 Zoomed-Out & Zoomed-In
A zoomed-out image of M31 taken on the Canon 200mm prime lenses and ASI 2600MC Pro CMOS cameras together with a zoomed-in image taken with the Hyperstar 4 on a C11 again with an ASI 2600 MC Pro CMOS camera.
Altair, Tarazed & Barnard’s “E”
Another clear night last night – totally unexpected as the satellite picture showed cloud all around me. Counting my blessings I went out and fired up the 200mm lenses and the ASI 2600MC Pro CMOS cameras. This is the right … Continue reading
Zoom-In on M31
Here is a zoom-in on the M31 image with a little more processing added.
M31 in Perspective
Managed to get out imaging with the 200mm lenses until 1 a.m. even with an intrusive Moon. Decided I would go for M31 to get the whole thing in the frame. Managed 4-hours of 20-minute subs in the end and … Continue reading
M31 – The Full Monty
This is all the Sky90 data plus all the Hyperstar 4 data I have on M31 put together. It is a damn shame the outer edges of the galaxy are cropped – that’s why this is an on-going project 🙂

Hyperstar 4 Image of M31
I found some Hyperstar 4/M31 data from 2021-10-11 comprising 33 x 3-minute subs – so I added this to the 52 x 3-minute subs taken on 22-08-25 to get the result above. So now a total of 85 x 3-minute … Continue reading

The Markarian Chain and IC3355
I made a composite image out of 2 lots of data of the Markarian Chain region taken using the Hyperstar 4 on a C11 with an ASI 2600MC Pro CMOS camera. This composite gives a total imaging time of 4.7 … Continue reading

The Whole of the Virgo/Coma Galaxy Supercluster
How many galaxies here? This is a 2-frame mosaic of the whole Virgo/Coma galaxy cluster region taken using the Canon 200mm prime lenses and the Trius M26C OSC CCDs. Each frame is approximately 4-hours of 15-minute subs

Sulafat & Sheliak
The central bright star is Sulafat – move to the right hand edge at the 2 o’clock position from Sulufat and that is Sheliak – these are the two bottom stars in central Lyra. Move 3/4 of the way from … Continue reading

From the Butterfly, Through the Crescent, to the Tulip
Here is another 2-frame mosaic from the Canon 200mm prime lenses and the Trius M26C OSC CCDs. It is centred on the Crescent nebula in Cygnus. And it needs more data!
