Markarian’s Chain of Galaxies and M87 in Leo.

Got out for some Hyperstar 4 imaging last night, started at 11 p.m. and wound up at 2 a.m. Managed to get 32 x 4-minute subs on the Markarian Chain region under damp, poor visibility skies.

M44, the Beehive Cluster in the constellation Cancer

Managed to get 28 x 150-second subs on M44 last night using the Hyperstar 4 and ASI2600MC-Pro CMOS camera. Collimation was pretty good during this run.

A Composite Leo Trio Using Hyperstar 3 and Hyperstar 4 Data

This is a composite image of the Leo Trio using old HS3 data and very recent HS4 data. Still not showing the tidal tail so plenty more work needs to be done on this one.

What is going on?

Well tonight will be the second clear Moonless night in a row – almost completely unknown! I am imaging M78 with the Hyperstar 4 with good collimation – but I don’t have long before it disappears behind the trees.
