Noel Carboni process of the Mu Cephei mini-WASP dataset
Noel applied his talents to last night’s Mu Cephei data taken using 3 scopes + cameras on the mini-WASP array. Unfortunately, as I hadn’t taken any flats Noel was not able to properly flatten this data, but even so, he … Continue reading

Mu Cephei – the Garnet star in Cepheus.
Managed to grab a quick hour and a half between the clouds tonight on the mini-WASP array using all 3 imagers. Got the Garnet star in Cepheus which lies on the edge of the huge emission nebula IC1396. If you … Continue reading

Image of the Month – December 2012
One of my favourite regions of sky, I have to return time and time again to all that bright Cygnus nebulosity, I find it amazing. This image of the North America/Pelican region is a composite using both Sky 90/M25C and … Continue reading

The mini-WASP array is fully functional :)
Last night (29/11/2012) I managed to get all 3 scopes and cameras working as one system on the mini-WASP array for the first time 🙂 Up until last night there was always (at least) one scope and camera not playing … Continue reading

Star field in Perseus
While I was tuning up the second Sky 90, I used the first Sky 90 to take some subs in Perseus. Using just the IDAS light pollution filter this image is the result of 20 x 5-minute sub exposures. You … Continue reading

Image of the Month – November 2012
I have several Parker-Carboni images that are my favourites, and this one is amongst them. Quite a few hours of one-shot colour went into creating this image of M31 and a few hours worth of H-alpha too. Then add a … Continue reading

Flattening the M26C APS-sized chip with a Takahashi collimator
I have three M26C one shot colour CCDs on the mini-WASP array, and for some reason one of these cameras was proving difficult to flatten precisely. My usual technique for getting the chip flat to the optical plane is to … Continue reading

Greg’s Charm Bracelet – the Double Cluster in Perseus is the “charm”
If you look at the Double Cluster with a pair of binoculars or a low power telescope, there is something that immediately strikes you. There is a group of very bright stars forming a large ring that emanates from the … Continue reading
