Tarazed and Barnard’s “E”

My third reprocess is the Tarazed and Barnard’s “E” region taken with the 200mm Canon prime lenses and the Trius M26C OSC CCDs. This is a cropped single frame image.

Hind’s Variable Nebula

Here is the second reprocess, this time it is Hind’s Variable nebula. A single frame image cropped to the nebula region. A staggering 22-hours of 20-minute subs went into creating this image. Taken on the Sky90 array using the M26C OSC CCDs.

The Broken Engagement Ring in Ursa Major

I have just found a huge pile of images that I didn’t process properly the first time around, so I have just spent all morning processing just a few of them.

This first image shows the bright blue star Merak to the left of the frame and the asterism known as the Broken Engagement Ring towards top-centre.

This is a vertical 2-frame mosaic taken on the Sky90 array using the M26C OSC CCDs. Each frame is approximately 4-hours of 10-minute subs.

The Sky90 array is now fully operational

I worked in the observatory from 10 p.m. until 1:15 a.m. this morning getting the Sky90 array tuned up and ready to go. All 3 Sky90s are now well-aligned and the collimation on each camera is spot on. We’re ready for some more parallel imaging from the MiniWASP array.

Supernova SN2022hrs, After and Before Shots

Here is the recent Hyperstar 4 image of supernova SN2022hrs together with an old 200mm lens shot of the same region (at much lower resolution unfortunately).

Supernova SN2022hrs in galaxy NGC4647

A clear Moonless sky last night and I was just going to sort out the final Sky90 on the array, which is a bit boring with good skies. So it was very fortunate that I saw there was a new supernova near M60 and that became the Hyperstar 4 target for the night.

With the ASI 2600MC-Pro CMOS camera on the Hyperstar 4, on the C11, on a wedge – I took 16 x 3-minute subs (I actually took 24 x 3-minute subs, but 8 were not very good).

Quite a beauty this one!

Hyperstar 4 Image of the Markarian Chain and M87

Last night I got another 17 x 9-minute subs on the Hyperstar 4 on the Markarian Chain region, and I added this to the 32 x 4-minute subs I collected a couple of nights earlier. The image has improved a lot and would clearly benefit from even more 9-minute subs. Just need the weather to cooperate.

Markarian’s Chain, M87 and an Asteroid.

This is a composite Sky90/M25C and Hyperstar 4/2600MC-Pro image of the Markarian Chain region. The Sky90/M25C data is 8-hours in total, and the Hyperstar 4/2600MC-Pro data is 32 x 4-minute subs taken last night.

There’s 2 asteroids in the image as well, can you spot them?

Markarian’s Chain of Galaxies and M87 in Leo.

Got out for some Hyperstar 4 imaging last night, started at 11 p.m. and wound up at 2 a.m. Managed to get 32 x 4-minute subs on the Markarian Chain region under damp, poor visibility skies.
