Dave Parker has created a new look for the New Forest Observatory galleries. To view these – first of all make sure you are seated! Now download Cool Iris www.cooliris.com Now go to the images section and open up the nebula pages. O.K. brace yourself – now click on the text Pic Lens!!! Grab and drag the blue lights in the grey rectangle at the bottom to scroll through the images. Click on an image for full screen mode (you may need to wait a few seconds for it to load). Wow! Thanks Dave – what a rush 🙂

Hi Greg,
Glad you like it.
The hard work was done by the cooliris guys and is really awesome – once it is installed try using the other sites like google.com/image search (a “play” icon should appear on each image – click it to fire up the search results in cooliris).
Of course the real benefit of cooliris is that it shows off the images created by you and Noel really well – my favourite is the Nebula gallery – the colours in 3D are just amazing!
Must not forget the work done by Alex Rabe on the nextGEN gallery which means that the correct format media stream is available for cooliris – this saved us doing any bespoke development work to provide it.
Just wait until we install the flash based tag cloud 🙂
