Comet Garradd animation
One thing you should note – it is not the World’s greatest idea to dither your “stills” if you later want to use the data to create an animation. I will try to do better next time 🙂 You can … Continue reading

Comet Garradd Hyperstar III night of 25/02/2012
Beautiful clear evening all night last night but I packed up at 2:30 in the morning after starting at 7:45 p.m. the evening before. This time the target was comet Garradd moving below Ursa Major and above Draco. I wasted … Continue reading

Trumpler 5 and IC2169
The Hyperstar III only data from last weekend without the lower resolution Sky 90 (Cone nebula) data added. I now really want to get some frames off the top to see more of that fascinating dark nebulosity 🙂

M101 galaxy and the Cone nebula region in Monoceros
We had two perfect imaging evenings on Sat 18th Feb and Sunday 19th Feb – utterly superb. I took M101 data on both nights, 3 hours of 5-minute subs the first night and 2 hours of 10-minute subs the second … Continue reading

IC2169 reflection/emission/dark nebulosity region in Monoceros
A most fantastic evening’s imaging last night – 5 and a half hours of data on two objects. The first was in Monoceros (next door to Orion) where I captured this fascinating, and very busy region around IC 2169. We … Continue reading

Messier 3 – globular cluster in Canes Venatici with background galaxies
Very nice globular cluster M3 in the constellation Canes Venatici. Taken with the Hyperstar III data from 22nd April 2009, 61 subs at 60-seconds per sub. I see that I left out a processing step in the cluster below so … Continue reading

M56 globular cluster with a Milky Way background in Lyra
I like clusters (open or globular) with a Milky Way background – and here’s one in the constellation Lyra – Messier 56. O.K. so it’s not much of a globular to look at, but the Milky Way background certainly brightens … Continue reading

The Virgo/Coma galaxy cluster in negative B&W
In order to see all the galaxies and the asteroids more easily – here’s the image below in negative B&W 🙂 Enjoy!
The Virgo/Coma galaxy cluster featuring Markarian’s Chain
A slightly more careful processing of the earlier data. At least 4 asteroids in there and North is to the right 🙂
