I used Registar to combine a number of images that included the Cygnus Wall, and the used Russ Croman’s StarXTerminator to remove the stars.

Astronomy Image of the Day

The Butterfly Cluster M44 sitting within the “Stargate” in the constellation Cancer. This is a 2-frame mosaic using the 200mm lenses and the M26C OSC CCDs. Towards the left hand edge there are two (very red) Carbon stars, one near the middle and the other towards the bottom edge.
